Who was Dr George Golding?

Dr George Golding (1941 – 2005) was the founder and CEO of the GP Association of Geelong (now Western Victoria Primary Health Network (PHN)). During his life he devoted his time and expertise to the education and mentoring of medical students, registrars and GPs.

In 2007 the GP Association of Geelong (now Western Victoria PHN), launched the Dr George Golding Memorial Trust in his memory. The purpose of the Dr George Golding Memorial Trust is to provide a scholarship, which is awarded each year to a student entering Deakin University Medical School. The successful applicant receives a payment of $5000 towards the cost of his/her medical education.

Dr George Golding Memorial Trust Scholarship

The purpose of the Dr George Golding Memorial Trust Scholarship is to promote education in the area of medical practice and medical science by recognising academic excellence and providing financial assistance through the provision of scholarships, bursaries or prizes to students.

The Trust also aims to support the development of stronger connections between students, general practitioners, specialists and the Deakin University Medical School.
