The March 2021 immunisation rates have been released and WVPHN continues to remain above the Department of Health benchmark of 95% for all age cohorts in both reports – all children & Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

Please find the full ratings listed in Westvic News.

Congratulations to all involved in this work – another way we improve the health outcomes and health care experience of the people of western Victoria.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update

GPs are reminded that they are able to refer patients to the respiratory clinics located in the western Victoria region.

National Reconciliation Week

This year’s theme for National Reconciliation Week running from 27 May – 3 June is ‘More than a word. Reconciliation takes action’, which urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.

I am encouraging Western Victoria PHN staff members to leave their workstations during the week and attend an event happening in our region. If your organisation is holding an event to recognise National Reconciliation Week, I kindly ask you to welcome our staff members.

International Nurses Day

Last Wednesday, 12 May, was International Nurses Day. Thank you to all our wonderful nurses across the western Victoria region for you hard work, especially over the last year during the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the ways Western Victoria PHN is supporting nurses is by investing $20,000 of Commonwealth funding to sponsor 60 nurses in the region to become Nurse Immunisers to assist with the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out.
