New Project ECHO COVID-19 Generates Wide Interest from Western Victoria’s Primary Health Providers

Western Victoria PHN (WVPHN) has been attracting strong interest in our new Project ECHO COVID-19 sessions with an average of more than 50 people taking part in the weekly teleECHO conferences.

Now in its fourth week, the sessions – facilitated by Geelong GP Dr Bianca Forrester – are designed to give health professionals throughout western Victoria easy access to learning opportunities and the chance to ask questions on current topics of local interest.

We’ve had up to 54 participants per session including GPs, nurses, practice managers and allied health professionals who’ve heard from our expert panel on topics such as regional planning for COVID-19 testing and assessment, WVPHN’s new HealthPathways COVID-19 pages, how to use PPE, and how to support aged care patients.

Feedback received so far

This week’s session will focus a Horsham clinic using telehealth and models of care in general practice during the current pandemic.
