Proposed Constitutional Change

VOTE to have your say

Western Victoria PHN (WVPHN) Board of Directors invite members to cast their vote for a proposed change to our constitution.

This change will ensure the highest standards of governance, as required by the government, are achieved and maintained, as we continue to support best practice primary health care across our region.

Key to the proposed change is that all Directors are appointed to the Board via an independent merit-based process rather than being elected. Through this change clinical skills will be elevated to a high priority in the skills matrix to recruit new Directors.

This ensures that primary health practitioners with on the ground knowledge and experience of primary care are encouraged to bring their expertise to Board level.

This proposed change will also change existing WVPHN membership, with all members becoming Network Members apart from the Board who will remain Company Members.

Network Members will continue to have the opportunity to attend and speak at any future Annual Meeting of the organisation and invited to attend events hosted by the organisation which are not open to public. Network Members will also be notified of vacancies that arise on the Board and invited to apply.

The proposed change will not impact day-to-day operations of WVPHN and our efforts in helping deliver best practice primary health care to communities throughout western Victoria.

Members are invited to vote on this proposed constitutional change at the Extraordinary General Meeting on Thursday 2 September. We value your opinion and want you to have your say on matters that are important to our organisation and our staff, members and the communities we serve.
