This year, the Primary Care Refresher will be run in a ‘hybrid format’, with options to attend online or face-to-face on Saturday 4 June. Participants may opt to attend virtually or network in person and meet at a venue in each of our sub regions – Geelong, Ballarat, Horsham and Warrnambool. Sessions on Sunday 5 June will be run online only.

The theme of the 2022 Refresher is The Journey of Primary Care Through a Pandemic, and the conference will feature a range of insightful sessions across two streams, as follows:

  • GP Stream: will cover important topics relating to GPs only (RACGP and ACRRM points will be applied for).
  • Primary Care Stream: will cover important topics relating to GPs, Practice Managers, Practice Nurses, practice staff and Allied Health Professionals.

Plenary sessions include palliative care engagement during COVID-19, innovative ways practices are managing patients in primary care during COVID and First Nations Health – the role of primary care.

GP stream topics include eating disorders, the Lifestyle Breakthrough Program, Long COVID and ME/CFS and mental health – recovery in the shadow of the pandemic.

Primary Care stream topics will cover wound management, resilience in primary care, refocusing your business and MBS billing, chronic disease management and workflow.
