Strong COVID-19 vaccination rates across western Victoria

COVID-19 vaccination rates across western Victoria are higher than national averages according to the latest data released by the Commonwealth Government.

As of August 28, 63.3% of eligible people in the Western Victoria PHN region have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 40.5% have had both doses.

In comparison, the national average for the rest of Australia for at least one dose is 56.1% and 32.9% for both doses.

Following are the vaccination rates by sub-region as at August 28.

Ballarat Goldfields

  • First dose: 60.1%
  • Both doses: 39.2%
Geelong Otway

  • First dose: 64.3%
  • Both doses: 41.7%
Great South Coast

  • First dose: 65.8%
  • Both doses: 40.2%
Wimmera Grampians

  • First dose: 63.0%
  • Both doses: 38.8%
