Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN) is leading a Sub-regional Co-design Facilitation Project and calling on health professionals to have their say through an online forum, consultations and workshops being held in November across western Victoria.
This project will assist organisations and services already delivering, and those interested in delivering after hours primary health care, to participate in a co design process and redesign collaborative, client-centered and financially viable after hours service models for communities across western Victoria.
Funding to support the co design and implementation of localised after hours service models will be available via a WVPHN procurement process early next year. Projects and models need to be innovative and sustainable, address systemic after hours issues and improve the integration of after hours services.
Consultations, including the online forum and practice interviews, will help understand current service provision, gather evidence of best practice examples and determine the key requirements of best practice after hours service models. To get involved, visit the Our Say website.
Representatives from all sectors including general practice, alcohol and other drugs, mental health and aged care are also invited to participate in the workshops to assist in shaping after hours solutions that meet the needs of all population groups in our community.
