Western Victoria Primary Health Network CEO Resigns

Media Statement

Western Victoria PHN Chair Ms Lynne McLennan said: “On behalf of the Board of Western Victoria PHN I wish to advise our members and stakeholders of the resignation of our Chief Executive Officer Dr Leanne Beagley.

Leanne joined Western Victoria PHN (WVPHN) in May 2017 and has demonstrated highly effective leadership during her three years as CEO. Leanne has worked extremely hard to better align the organisation to meet the health care needs of our community and to provide support for health care providers.

She has significantly progressed the work of WVPHN in achieving positive health outcomes for western Victoria, whilst at the same time interpreting and navigating a complex policy environment.

Leanne has been appointed to a high profile national role of CEO of the national peak body – Mental Health Australia – and on behalf of the Board I wish her every success in this new position. Leanne’s last day with us will be April 9th.”

Western Victoria PHN CEO Dr Leanne Beagley said: “I am very proud of how far staff and management and the executive have brought Western Victoria PHN during my tenure. It has been a privilege to lead this team. I am very confident I leave the organisation well-placed to move forward, capitalise on the changes now consolidating and making a real difference to the health of the western Victoria community.”

“My new appointment brings together decades of my experience and provides a platform for influence on a national scale, at a time where mental health reform is well underway and the policy focus on mental ill health is at an all-time high.”
