Through a series of upcoming online workshops, service providers and people with lived experience, including carers, are encouraged to share their knowledge and experience of mental health services in Geelong to help piece together and design the new Adult Mental Health Centre in Corio.

In the first weeks of February, we will be working with the community and service providers separately to co-design and shape the new Adult Mental Health Centre in Corio within a service model framework.

In the last week of February, community and services providers will come together to test and refine these ideas.

Lived Experience Co-Design Online Workshops

These workshops will provide an opportunity for people with lived experience and carers to contribute input into the new Adult Mental Health centre in Corio.

These workshops will provide an overview of the main discussion points of the previous workshops and will give service providers and people with lived experience the chance to explore these ideas further.

Who are these events for?

People with lived experience are those living within our community with experience of mental health challenges or closely supported a family member or friend with these challenges.

Service Providers are those working in community and health care roles and associated services such as alcohol and other drugs, family violence, education, housing and so on.

What can I expect?

  • To participate in a 1 hour and 15 minute online workshop
  • To have the opportunity to share your insights into how services could better meet the needs of people living in the community with mental health challenges
  • To be provided with information regarding the outcome of the session
  • A small payment in remuneration of your time will be offered to those who attend a workshop.

What if I am unable to attend the online workshops?

You can participate in other ways via Meeting Place:

  • Share your ideas online or submit your ideas via a survey
  • Register your interest for a phone interview with the WVPHN team
