Deepening Practice Through Case Conversations
Primary care clinicians are often the first point of contact for individuals experiencing family, domestic, and sexual violence (FDSV), yet navigating these complex and sensitive presentations can be challenging. The FDSV Clinical Spotlights: Deepening Practice Through Case Conversations are designed specifically for GPs, Practice Nurses, and other clinical staff working in primary care who are seeking to strengthen their clinical confidence and capability in responding to FDSV.
Delivered as a series of four interactive sessions (one each month over Feb-May), each spotlight session will focus on more complex topics through case-based discussions and practical strategies that reflect the realities of general practice. These sessions will support clinicians to:
- Recognise subtle and overt indicators of FDSV in everyday consultations
- Respond with trauma-informed care that prioritises safety, trust, and patient-centred communication
- Refer effectively to specialist services using clear and accessible pathways
- Report appropriately and confidently, with guidance on legal and professional obligations
Whether you’re looking to deepen your existing knowledge or refine your approach to complex cases, these webinars offer a supportive, practical learning environment tailored to the needs of primary care.
Clinicians can attend all four sessions, or self select sessions they are particularly interested in.
RACGP points will be applied for – 1EA hour + 0.5 RP hour per session.
