Learning Outcomes:

  1. Be able to describe the physiology of wound healing
  2. Be able to list a minimum of 3 common reasons why wounds may fail to follow the normal healing trajectory
  3. Be able to Identify dressings under the following headings:
  • polyurethane film-sheet and wipe, polyurethane foam, silicone foam, hydrocolloid sheet and paste, hydrogel-, enzyme algino gel, calcium alginate, silver containing dressing, Iodine dressings, tea tree oil dressing, antimicrobial binding dressing, medical honey, hypertonic salt, silicone scar management product, superabsorber pads

        4. Be able to identify common treatment pathways for wounds seen in general practice
