Discipline: Contract Manager: Low Intensity Mental Health Services

A new opportunity has arisen to work with genU to assist with the delivery of Low Intensity Mental Health Services.

The Low Intensity Mental Health Services (LIMHS) are evidence-based psychological services that target people with or at risk of mild mental illness within a stepped acre approach and are designed to be accessed quickly, easily and efficiently. This program is supported by Western Victoria Primary Health Network under the Australian Government’s Primary Health Networks Program.

As the Contract Manager of the LIMHS, it is your role to manage staff and direct activities consistent with the contract, ensuing the objectives of engagement, service delivery and outcome targets are achieved. As a manager you will take overall responsibility for providing management and direction to a team delivering short-term psychological interventions to support people with or at risk of mild mental illness.

You will play an integral role in monitoring and evaluating the quality and effectiveness of the services delivered.

This is a full-time 12 month contract which will involves managing a geographically spread team in the catchment areas that include: Geelong Otway, Ballarat Goldfields, Great South Coast, Wimmera Grampians. The role requires travel within these regions as needed and will involve some days working from home.

The successful application can be located in any of the four catchment Victoria areas – Ballarat Goldfields Region, Geelong Otway Region, Great South Coast Region or Wimmera Grampians Region

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Successful delivery of all components of the contract
  • Ensure that services are delivered with a high-level of customer service; empowerment and empathy by all staff
  • Management of case managers and admin team to ensure quality service delivery
  • Play an integral role in monitoring and evaluating the quality and effectiveness of services delivered
  • Work towards achieving organisational performance indicators set by the contract and play an integral role in setting strategies to enhance future performance
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews with staff to ensure performance standards are met
  • Identifying and building relationships with key stakeholders and work towards planning and supporting community engagement
  • Promoting awareness of the service and how to access the service in the local community
  • Reporting against contract KPI’s, maintenance progress and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide training and develop staff to increase their knowledge and ability to positively impact on site performance
  • Identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure accurate record keeping standards for all works in line with quality and auditing requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an Allied mental health professional with minimum two years experience;
  • Hold mental health qualifications in psychology, counselling or a related field;
  • The ability to manage and monitor outcomes, targets and budgets;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate staff to deliver high quality service;
  • Have an understanding of working with clients presenting with symptoms of mild mental illness;
  • The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, incorporating effective planning, time management and organisational skills to achieve quality outcomes;
  • Have strong interpersonal and team skills and behaviours, including verbal and written communication, flexibility, and resilience;
  • Have high level skills in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel;
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence.
  • Desirable, completed training in the delivery of the specific low intensity intervention.
