Part-Time hours: Fixed term to 17 January 2022, and part-time role working 22.8 hours per week
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications and current registration in Nursing (Registered Nurse).
Demonstrated experience in working with young people in a primary health care setting.
Proven ability to communicate and interact professionally with multiple stakeholders including young people, their parents and or carers and families.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex health presentations including moderate to acute mental health and or Alcohol and Other Drug issues.
Ability to understand and support clients around psychosocial issues including assessment and management of risk around homelessness and or family violence.
Understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
Have or be working toward knowledge, skills and expertise for the provision of culturally appropriate and socially inclusive services to young people.
This role provides an opportunity to work in conjunction with GP’s and other allied health staff providing nursing, health promotion and counselling for young people aged 12 to 25 years.
The key objectives of this role are:
Provide headspace GP’s with primary health care support as required;
Provide intake and assessment of new clients to the headspace program; and
Provide primary physical health support to young people including sexual health counselling.
