Western Victoria Primary Health Network works with both the Victorian State Government’s Department of Health and the Australian Government’s Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to help coordinate the primary healthcare response during and following natural disasters and other emergency events.
As part of this work, we look after an Emergency Volunteer Register of health providers willing to be on call to offer clinical support during local emergency situations. This support may include helping staff field primary care clinics or acting as a temporary workforce in affected general practices and other primary care providers. See also SEMP Health Emergencies Sub-Plan | Emergency Management Victoria
