Primary Care and Sexual Violence Services Combined Co-design Workshop – Horsham – 10 July

An initiative of the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) Pilot Project,

Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN) is expanding our existing Family Violence Pilot to include Sexual Violence (SV) and Child Sexual Abuse (CSA). To successfully incorporate SV and CSA into our revised Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) pilot, including the expertise of specialist SV and CSA services or specialists working on the frontline will be critical to the overall success of the project.

WVPHN is reaching out to Primary, Care, and SV and CSA specialists/services. We are eager to enlist your expertise to improve the capacity of General Practitioners (GPs) working in western Victoria in responding to cases of SV and CSA. As specialists, your insights are crucial in understanding the primary challenges and signs that GPs encounter when responding to such cases.

GPs play a crucial role in identifying, responding to, and referring victims of SV and CSA. However, they may encounter challenges and barriers in their capacity to respond adequately. We want to better understand these challenges and barriers from your perspective so that we can explore solutions tailored to your expertise.

Your participation will directly impact the development of training programs that empower GPs to recognise, respond, and refer appropriately. Together, we can ensure that victims of SV and CSA receive the support they need.
